    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Role Title: Project Manager – Automotives Location: Chennai

    As an Automotive Domain Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing projects within the automotive domain. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects related to automotive technology, including but not limited to vehicle electronics, connectivity, autonomous driving, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Deep understanding and experience in HIL testing process. Your role will involve coordinating tasks, resources, timelines, and budgets to meet project objectives and deliver high-quality results in alignment with organizational goals.

    Additionally, the following requirements are a must:

    Experience with Data Connected Vehicles

    HIL Testing

    Experience with Fleet Management Systems

    OEM, Suppliers, and 3rd party liaison

    You will be looking to be part of a new Centre of Excellence and contribute to the diversification of business. Support all pre-sales, competency building, research, solution structuring and business development activities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Automotive Domain Knowledge Requirements:

    In-depth understanding of automotive systems, including vehicle architecture, powertrain, chassis, and electrical/electronic systems.

    Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations, such as ISO 26262 for functional safety and ISO 16949 for quality management.

    Knowledge of emerging automotive technologies, trends, and market dynamics, including electrification, connectivity, and autonomous driving. CAD, CAE, FOTA

    Ability to interpret technical specifications, schematics, and design documents related to automotive components and systems.

    Experience working with automotive OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), Tier 1 suppliers, and other stakeholders in the automotive supply chain.

    Understanding of HIL testing and validation processes, including test planning, execution, and analysis.

    Awareness of cybersecurity principles and best practices relevant to automotive cybersecurity requirements and standards.

    Operating knowledge of Team Center, dSpace, NI – TestStand, VeriStand, Vector, SolidWorks and other commonly used tools

    Project Planning and Execution:

    Develop project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation, in collaboration with stakeholders.

    Execute project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.

    Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to address potential issues proactively.

    Stakeholder Management:

    Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, product managers, suppliers, and customers, to gather requirements and ensure alignment on project goals.

    Communicate project status, updates, and key milestones to stakeholders, addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly.

    Resource Management:

    Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to support project activities and achieve desired outcomes.

    Coordinate with resource managers to ensure availability of necessary expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle.

    Risk Management:

    Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project delivery or objectives.

    Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize project disruptions and ensure successful outcomes.

    Quality Assurance:

    Implement quality assurance processes to monitor and evaluate project deliverables, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

    Conduct regular reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous enhancement of project performance.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in automotive/mechanical engineering.
    • Proven experience with a minimum of 15+ years in project management within the automotive industry, with a focus on vehicle electronics, HIL, connectivity, ADAS, and related technologies.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in project management tools and software and familiarity with agile methodologies.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
    • Able to manage the team seamlessly with servant leadership attitude.
