    Responsibilities :

    Database Design and Modelling :

    • Design and implement efficient and normalised database schemas.
    • Create and modify tables, indexes, and constraints based on application requirements.
    • Optimise database structures for performance and scalability.

    Query Development :

    • Write and optimise complex SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and reporting.
    • Tune queries and analyse execution plans to enhance performance.
    • Implement best practices for indexing and query optimisation.

    Database Development :

    • Develop stored procedures, triggers, and functions using SQL and PL/PGSQL.
    • Create and maintain database views and materialised views.
    • Implement data migration and transformation processes.

    Performance Optimization :

    • Monitor and analyse database performance using tools and techniques.
    • Identify and address performance bottlenecks and slowrunning queries.
    • Collaborate with system administrators to optimise hardware resources.

    Data Integrity and Security :

    • Ensure data integrity by enforcing constraints and validation rules.
    Implement security measures to protect sensitive data.

    • Manage user access privileges and roles.

    Backup and Recovery :

    • Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
    • Perform routine backups and ensure data recoverability.

    Version Control and Deployment :

    • Utilise version control systems to manage database changes.
    • Coordinate database deployments in collaboration with development and operations teams.

    Documentation :

    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database design, schema changes, and processes.
    • Create and update documentation for databaserelated guidelines and standards.

    Collaboration :

    • Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and optimise database usage.
    • Provide technical expertise and support to crossfunctional teams.

    Qualifications :
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

    • Proficiency in PostgreSQL and its related tools and utilities.
    • Strong knowledge of SQL and database design principles.
    • Experience with performance tuning and query optimisation.
    • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and deployment workflows.
    • Understanding of data security and compliance standards.
    • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
    • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

    Preferred Skills :

    • Experience with PL/PGSQL programming.
    • Knowledge of Using GUI interface for DB operations (Ex. Navi Cat).
    • Experience in using ETL Tools (ODI, OBIEE, SSIS) etc.
    • Knowledge of database administration tasks.
    • Familiarity with NoSQL databases and other data storage technologies.
    • Understanding of cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL)
