    Description

    Role Summary:

    We are looking for a skilled IBM WebSphere Commerce Developer with strong experience in developing and maintaining eCommerce solutions. The ideal candidate should also possess good architectural understanding and Java development skills. Familiarity with DB2 as the underlying OLTP database is an added advantage.

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and maintain eCommerce applications using IBM WebSphere Commerce
    • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and other developers to understand business needs and implement scalable solutions
    • Apply strong Java programming and object-oriented design principles in the development process
    • Participate in application architecture discussions and ensure alignment with industry best practices
    • Perform code reviews, unit testing, and troubleshoot performance and scalability issues
    • Integrate and optimize database interactions, preferably with DB2
    • Create and maintain technical documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing

    Essential Skills:

    • IBM WebSphere Commerce (WCS)
    • Core Java, JSP, Servlets
    • Understanding of application architecture and design patterns
    • Familiarity with eCommerce business processes

    Good to Have (Optional):

    • Experience with DB2 as the underlying OLTP database
    • Exposure to REST/SOAP services
    • Knowledge of performance tuning and load testing in high-traffic environments
