Job Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Academic Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide guidance and support to students.
Responsibilities:
Provide academic counseling to students regarding course selection, program requirements, and career pathways.
Assist students in setting academic goals and developing strategies to achieve them.
Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions to address student concerns, academic challenges, and personal development.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success initiatives and interventions.
Organize and conduct workshops, seminars, and orientation programs to enhance student engagement and academic performance.
Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress towards academic goals.
Stay updated on educational policies, programs, and resources to effectively advise students.
Assist in the development and implementation of academic support services and initiatives.
Participate in recruitment and outreach activities to attract and retain students.
Handle inquiries from prospective students and provide information about programs, admission requirements, and application processes.
Work closely with other departments to ensure a seamless student experience.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling or related field.
Minimum of 6 months experience in academic counseling or advising role.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
Knowledge of educational principles, learning styles, and academic support services.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in computer applications and student information systems.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
Immediate availability for joining preferred.
