Role Summary:

Experienced in international procurement of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap materials such as HMS Scrap, Turning Scrap, Cast Iron Scrap, LMS Bundles, Shredded Scrap, and Stainless Steel Scrap (Grades 304/316/202). Directly manages sourcing from global markets including Europe, UK, Latin America, Australia, USA, Africa, Middle East, and Asia. Expertise in vendor negotiations, contracts, logistics, customs, quality control, and international payment mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct procurement from global yard owners, traders, and suppliers for a variety of metal scraps.
• End-to-end management of scrap purchasing operations including negotiation, contracting, documentation, shipping, and claims handling.
• Handle all international payment methods (Cash on OBL, Cash on Draft BL, DP, LC).
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships and manage vendor performance.
• Monitor global scrap markets and identify new suppliers to optimize cost and quality.
• Ensure all imports comply with customs regulations, PSIC requirements, and inspection protocols.
• Oversee warehouse and yard operations, with full responsibility for inventory, quality checks, and stock optimization.
• Manage claims for quality issues, short weight, impurities, or other disputes.
• Handle shipping logistics, customs clearance, coordination with shipping lines, clearing agents, and freight forwarders.
• Maintain all relevant procurement documentation including Purchase Sheets, Vendor Sheets, Contract Sheets, Claim Sheets, and Loading Sheets.
• Attend major global conferences and exhibitions related to metal scrap and recycling (e.g., MRAI, SteelMint, Metlex, BIR).
• Conduct international travel to meet vendors, negotiate contracts, and resolve issues.
• Ensure timely delivery, quality assurance, and payment schedules for all international transactions.
• Assess and validate vendor documentation to meet statutory and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with multicultural teams and departments for seamless operations.
