System Engineer - Bengaluru

Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Research and Development, India is seeking System responsible engineer with a strong technical background in system engineering & product development of Electronic Control Units.

Responsibilities

• Description of Customer function and creation of brief description.
• Derivation of the system functions required for the customer functions and definition of system boundaries (mechanics, EE and software).
• Identification of system demands and system properties and derivation of system requirements.
• Ensuring that the hazard and risk analysis for the system.
• Creation and testing of system configurations (system versions, variants, alternatives)
• Participation in the derivation of system architectures and mapping of customer and system functions to components
• Coordination of system contributions with all participants involved
• Specification of customer function effect chains as well as integration of regulations (ex. SUMS, OBD/ENDA) and implementing components (E/E,HW, SW, Services, ...)
• Creation of system requirements specifications according to the standard template SRS
• Documentation, coordination and communication of system changes with participants and follow-up processes as well as, if necessary, bringing about an amendment resolution in accordance with the respective change processes
• Planning and definition of the test concept and the test specification incl. test cases in the respective system validation plan (SVP) with reference to the requirements.
• Verification of the system specification and evaluation of the test results.
• Maturity assessment, error analysis and symptom attribution.
• Documentation and assurance of system release.
• Plan & results in the respective IT tools as well as archiving of the release Development and series support for EE components for Mercedes Benz cars which fulfil the legal regulations and production demands, the objectives from the project, Carline and module strategy, with regard to function, quality, weight and costs.
• Creation and possibly updating the requirements specification for components, integration of safety requirements; creation of contributions for concept specification and vehicle specification
• Creation, control and maintenance of a schedule (with component and software release versions) taking into consideration process milestones at entire vehicle level in consultation with Purchase, Logistics, Calculation and Quality
• Assistance in the creation and release of a test and commissioning regulation (PIV) for the components

Qualifications

• B.E/M. Tech (full-time) from reputed institutions with specialization in Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & Communication / Mechatronics / Instrumentation.
• 6-10 years of experience in automotive electronics system development.
• Bachelors in Electronics / Electrical / Mechatronics / Embedded systems / Instrumentation engineering
