Launch Vehicle Aerodynamics Expert

As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal aerodynamic performance during the ascent phase of a rocket's flight. Your expertise in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations and wind tunnel testing will enable us to evaluate and optimize vehicle configurations, minimizing drag and enhancing stability. You will also develop innovative solutions to improve aerodynamic efficiency, reducing weight and enhancing mission success.

Responsibilities include working closely with trajectory analysts to understand and influence the launch vehicle's flight path, evaluating the impact of atmospheric conditions on the vehicle's ascent, and identifying opportunities for trajectory optimization. Additionally, you will collaborate with propulsion engineers to predict and analyze the vehicle's overall performance based on aerodynamic characteristics and provide input to optimize thrust profiles and fuel consumption during different phases of flight.

You will also conduct structural optimization studies to enhance the overall performance, reliability, and efficiency of space launch vehicle structures. To be successful in this role, you should have a master's or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a related field with a focus on aerodynamics, proven experience in aerodynamic analysis and design, and proficiency in CFD tools and software.
