- Deepen knowledge and analytical firepower on areas allied to city-systems (urban governance) and identify contemporary trends and advocacy agendas
- Critically analyse legislations and policy documents
- Undertake basic quantitative analysis
- Draft research-based thought leadership pieces to advance city-systems agenda
- Draft policy collaterals like case studies, ready reckoner documents, etc. as per requirement
- Identify and work with government stakeholders, and small cohorts of knowledge partners/consultants on joint advocacy agendas
- Existing knowledge or ability and willingness to quickly grasp concepts of Urban Governance, and Municipal Laws
- Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills – including strong presentation skills
- Willingness to extend oneself to accomplish work objectives with tight deadlines, simultaneously pursuing excellence
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of individual projects
- Positive attitude, flexibility and ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment
- Past experience or ability to manage high-stake projects in partnership with external stakeholders, especially senior government officials
- Post Graduate or equivalent in public policy, urban policy, law, and economics
- 5+ years of experience in public policy research, government advisory, public finance, business consulting or in a non-profit
- Candidates from alternative academic backgrounds with outstanding academic and career accomplishments and relevant work experience would also be considered
- Proficiency in MS Office suite particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with a working knowledge of analysis of data & visualization

This position is based out of Bengaluru and will report to the Head – Municipal Law and Policy. This engagement will be for an initial period of one year (extendable).
