    Job Purpose


    As a Deputy General Manager / General Manager specializing in Defence Sales, you will play a key leadership role in driving the sales strategy, managing key client relationships, and overseeing the execution of Defence sales initiatives.

    This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in Defence sales, a strategic mindset, and the ability to lead and mentor a high-performance sales team.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic leadership in the development and execution of the Defence sales strategy.
    • Collaborate with senior management to align sales goals with overall business objectives.
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, government officials, Defence agencies, and major Defence contractors.
    • Seeding product requirements at both HQ level and also in Command & Corps HQs of the Army, Navy & Air Force.
    • Act as a primary point of contact for key accounts, addressing their needs and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
    • Lead and mentor a team of Defence sales professionals, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
    • Set performance targets, conduct regular performance reviews, and contribute to professional development plans for team members.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Defence sector, including partnerships, alliances, and strategic collaborations.
    • Drive the expansion of the Defence sales portfolio and explore diversification opportunities.
    • Oversee the negotiation of Defence contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Handson experience in handling complete tender procurement cycle in Army / Navy / Air Force starting from preparing responses to RFI/EOI/RFP, formulating technical & commercial bids, conducting trials, participating in price negotiation and finally signing of contract.
    • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to address contractual and compliance issues.
    • Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts, reports, and dashboards.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management on sales performance, market trends, and business development initiatives.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics.
    • Utilize market intelligence to make informed strategic decisions and adjustments to the sales approach.
    • Work closely with crossfunctional teams, including marketing, product development, and operations, to ensure alignment and successful execution of Defence sales initiatives.

    Experience, Education and Skills

    • BTech in Avionics / Aerospace / Mechanical /Electronics.
    • Master's degree is a plus.
    • Extensive experience in defence sales, with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
    • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with experience in leading and developing highperformance sales teams.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Indepth knowledge of defence procurement processes, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Strategic thinking and the ability to translate business objectives into actionable sales plans.
