    As a Principal Manager at Launch, you will lead our teams with strategic vision and operational excellence, ensuring optimal resourcing, staffing, and utilization in addition to driving technical innovation. You will be responsible for maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of our workforce while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by guiding and developing our talented teams to achieve their fullest potential across all aspects of our operations, including career counseling and development. As a principal, you need to have experience in leading teams to deliver modern, innovative software solutions. This role requires strong software development skills across a variety of potential platforms and frameworks.

    Responsibilities

    • Development and potentially maintenance of software systems and their features.

    Work alongside other engineers to improve technology, while also providing technical and career guidance to the team.

    • Help with mentoring software engineers of all skill levels, and directly manage and support the career growth, direction and feedback for a team of software engineering professionals.

    Perform technical interviews of software engineering role candidates and provide thoughtful feedback based on individual role expectations.

    • Develop and execute strategic plans to drive organizational growth and success.

    Provide clear direction and leadership to departmental managers, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.

    • Identify emerging market trends and opportunities for innovation to maintain our competitive edge.
    • Oversee resourcing, staffing, and utilization to ensure the right talent is in the right place at the right time to meet business needs.
    • Develop and implement workforce planning strategies to anticipate and address future staffing requirements.
    • Optimize resource allocation and utilization to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members in their career growth and development.
    • Conduct regular career counseling sessions to identify individual strengths, goals, and areas for improvement.
    • Collaborate with HR and training departments to facilitate training programs and skill development initiatives.
    • Nurture a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across all teams.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to managers, helping them develop their leadership skills and achieve their professional goals.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment where team members feel valued, motivated, and empowered to succeed.
    • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

    Implement best practices and process improvements to optimize workflow and resource utilization.

    • Monitor key performance metrics and take proactive measures to address any issues or bottlenecks.

    Required Experience and Qualifications

    • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience, with a proven track record of success in managing teams and driving organizational growth.
    • Strong strategic planning and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others at all levels of the organization.
    • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and lead teams through change and ambiguity.
    • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
    • Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
    • Proficiency in a modern programming language, e.g., C#, Java, Go, Rust.
