    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Title: Network System Administrator

    Location: India

    The Network System Administrator is responsible for monitoring and managing the local and wide area networks of an organization to ensure maximum uptime and performance for users. The role can include system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of new networks, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary.

    ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Monitoring and installation of various network devices and services (e.g. routers & switches, Palo Alto firewalls, Arista & Aruba switches, access points).
    • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, and security configurations.
    • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability using tools such as Solar Winds & Pager Duty.
    • Knowledge of Switch security, firewall zoning, routing protocols, firewall management & structured cabling.
    • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
    • Knowledge of WAN, MPLS and VPN services.
    • Knowledge of LAN, cabling, racking, and mounting.
    • Monitoring and analysing of logs.
    • Work within network team for configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
    • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
    • Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
    • Arranging scheduled upgrades & investigating faults in the network.
    • Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases.Assist with ensuring networks are secure and available at all times.

    SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

    • Knowledge of Palo Alto Firewall, and Aruba & Arista switches, WIFI.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people in a professional manner, face to face, on the telephone and in writing.
    • Willing to work flexibly and with enthusiasm.
    • Hands on experience in networking, routing, and switching
    • Knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
    • Experience with firewalls, troubleshooting of network issue, monitoring of network infrastructure and problem resolution is desired.
    • Take lead on critical issues and escalate it to appropriate teams and management if required.
    • Fosters a learning environment and mentors Network Administrators.
    • Follow up on pending tickets/tasks with other teams and take appropriate action.
    • Create knowledge base articles and publish them.
    • Expert in configuring and installation various network devices and services (e.g. routers & switches, Palo Alto firewalls, Arista & Aruba switches).
    • Expert in switch security, firewall zoning, routing protocols, firewall management & structured cabling.
    • Ensure networks are secure and available at all times

    Requirements

    • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field.
    • 6+ years relevant experience required.
    • Certification in 2+ relevant network technologies (switching, routing, design, automation, cloud, security etc.
