    Purpose of the Job

    As Strategic Marketing and Business Development Manager, Medical Technologies, the candidate will be responsible for the strategic planning, execution and monitoring of brand, product and overall marketing campaigns in the ZEISS India Marketing function for OPT for Medical Technologies Division.

    This role is crucial for establishing the OPT product's market presence, supporting sales efforts, and aligning marketing initiatives with broader organizational goals.

    He/She will be accountable for wing-to-wing process of understanding campaign objectives, planning, creating, and executing the marketing campaigns while continuously improving marketing processes and business outcomes.

    The successful candidate will have a passion for collaboration with horizontal marketing and product teams and the ability to manage agencies, vendors, and all other relevant stakeholders.

    Job Requirement

    • Minimum - 8 years of experience in Product management / marketing with expertise in brand positioning, market activation programs and digital marketing, preferably in Healthcare/Pharma/Med-tech industry.
    • Bachelors or master's degree or equivalent in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications.
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills
    • Proven ability to motivate and work effectively with diverse, regional, and global cross-functional teams and vendors
    • Ability to operate under pressure, within tight deadlines and dynamic environments
    • Knowledge of marketing automation tools, technical and digital tools, such as Marketo, Adobe, Google /Adobe Analytics, SEM Rush, and other content management platforms
    • Demonstrated people management, project management and budget skills.
    • Strong business acumen, analytical and process skills, ability to translate output to outcomes and details oriented.

    Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities (Tasks & Deliverables):

    1 Product Positioning & Messaging:

    • Collaborate with Product and Sales teams to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment of product benefits with customer needs.
    • Adaption of global branding and marketing communications programs and campaigns for region in alignment with business and Marcom team. As required create compelling product positioning, value propositions, and messaging that resonate with clinicians, and key stakeholders to drive growth.
    • Ensure adherence to corporate branding and integrating corporate guidelines into communication programs.

    2 Campaign Planning & Execution:

    • Design and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, print, and in-person initiatives, to drive brand awareness and product adoption, by working closely with product teams, including business/product managers, Mar Com, clinical applications team and regional sales teams.
    • Monitor campaign effectiveness and adjust strategies based on performance metrics and customer feedback.
    • Drive PDC efforts to maximize ROI for clinicians and build stronger, long-term relationships.

    3 Market Strategy Development:

    • Develop and implement marketing strategies for the OPT portfolio within targeted ophthalmic disease segments, aligning with organizational goals and growth targets.
    • Conduct market segmentation, competitive analysis, and customer insights research to inform positioning and identify opportunities for expansion, in collaboration with business development manager.

    4 Budget Planning and Marketing Operations:

    • Budget planning, cost out planning, spend analysis with publishing of marketing activities calendar for the year.
    • End to end marketing operations, vendor selection and management and process improvement for streaming KOL/vendor payments.

    5 KOL & Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and clinical experts to strengthen product credibility and gather clinical insights.
    • Coordinate with KOLs for testimonials, case studies, and participation in webinars or events to enhance brand reputation and product trust in the given portfolio.

    6 Sales Enablement & Training:

    • Develop and provide training materials, presentations, and sales tools that equip the Sales team with in-depth product knowledge and competitive positioning.
    • Collaborate with the Product Specialist to deliver clinical insights and product updates, ensuring the Sales team is well-prepared for customer interactions.

    7 Market Insights & Customer Engagement Strategies:

    • Take up content marketing initiatives (from outcomes research, webinars, whitepapers) for various channels like digital Communities, website to articulate compelling story around ZEISS brand themes.
    • Co create and develop clear, creative communication strategies from complex marketing objectives and content
    • Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to adapt strategies and maintain a competitive edge.

    8 Event & Tradeshow Management:

    • Lead planning and execution of presence at industry conferences, tradeshows, and regional CME programs, ensuring impactful product representation and engagement.
    • Work with the Marketing Communications and Tradeshow Manager to align event goals with broader marketing strategies and brand objectives.
    • Engage and negotiate with event organizers to secure prime placements, promotional opportunities, and optimal visibility, ensuring each event delivers a strong return on investment.

    9 Product Launch & Lifecycle Management:

    • Plan and manage new product launches, creating go-to-market strategies that maximize awareness and drive adoption in target segments in close association with global product team.
    • Oversee the lifecycle marketing strategy for existing products, identifying opportunities for re-engagement or upsell initiatives.

    10 Performance Tracking & Reporting:

    • Measure and report on the effectiveness of marketing strategies and campaigns, analyzing KPIs to ensure alignment with revenue and growth objectives.
    • Use data to refine approaches and communicate results and insights to senior management.
    • Use judgment to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems within projects, product lines, markets, Go-To Market strategy and campaigns. Takes new perspective on existing solutions.
