About the Role:

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator proficient in PostgreSQL and Oracle databases, with additional expertise in MySQL/MariaDB administration. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Linux environments and scripting for automation, along with a strong ability to optimize database performance and execute upgrades. A collaborative mindset and excellent problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role. A degree in computer science or a related field is required, along with proficiency in PostgreSQL, Linux, and basic scripting languages.

Role Responsibilities:

Manage PostgreSQL databases and one or two Oracle databases, including older versions slated for upgrade. Administer a variety of smaller application-specific MySQL/MariaDB databases. Execute scripts for database functions and automation using Linux scripting. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as database cleanup, index management, performance tuning, and backups. Coordinate and execute project-specific database upgrades. Collaborate on database design for new projects.

Requirement:

Proficiency in PostgreSQL administration; experience with Oracle databases is a plus. Familiarity with Linux-based environments and scripting for database automation. Strong understanding of database maintenance practices and performance optimization techniques. Ability to execute project-specific database upgrades and migrations. Experience in database design for new projects is desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications -

Formal Education or Equivalent Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
