Job Purpose:
Company 3/Method Inc is seeking a

Linux

System Engineer

you will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers.

System administrators also actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company.

Roles & ResponsibilitiesPerform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs.

Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
Participate in administration of backup operations.
Maintain floating license servers.
Apply OS and firmware patches and upgrades.
Upgrade and configure infrastructure systems and software per as needed.
Maintain server room and colocation facility environmental and monitoring equipment.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Experience RequiredLinux experience 2-3years (Centos, RHEL, Ubuntu, Suse)Samba and NFS configuration in multiplatform environmentMac OS and Windows application deployment and integration is a plusStrong working knowledge of

VMware vSphere, vCenter & Horizon ViewKnowledge of Windows 10 OS including installation and configuration.
Windows Server OS and Active Directory.
Strong working knowledge of Linux including command line.
An understanding of servers, networking, storage and render systems for troubleshooting purposes.
Beginner to intermediate level with automated rendering systems (Qube, Deadline, Rush, Muster, Smedge, etc)

Desirable RequirementsPython codingShell scriptingLAN/WAN networkingExperience of troubleshooting creative programs such as Maya, Houdini, Photoshop, Nuke, FusionExperience working in an Animation / VFX production studio an assetQualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience and skill-set:
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or related field.
Redhat Certified System Engineer (RHCE) is mustOther certifications like MCSE, CCNA etc is plus.
Hands on experience of managing 200+ workstation is plus.
