Responsibilities

· The coordination of all technical matters in line with Company policies, maritime rules and regulations and industry standards.

· Organizing and implementing courses of action for matters of technical nature arising onboard vessels.

· Instructing, coordinating and monitoring works/repairs.

· Maintaining a close knowledge of maintenance, condition and operation of assigned vessels and for advising/co-operating with onboard personnel and mainly the Chief Engineer in order to ensure that vessels are operating efficiently.

· Co-operating with the Marine Superintendent to achieve optimum vessels' performance consistent with the assigned vessels' commercial obligations.

· Attending vessels at ports of call at appropriate intervals to ensure technical condition, performance and repairs.

· Providing training and advice to shipboard personnel as necessary.

Qualifications

• Class 1 Marine Engineer with minimum 2 years' experience on Senior rank on board tankers, chemical tankers, Gas tankers. Previous rank experience in a similar position will be an added consideration.

• Must be fluent in English and able to work in a multicultural environment

• Interest in working with quality systems such as ISM and ISO 9001 and 14001

• Experience with Oil Major Inspections

• Experience in budget planning and control

• Experience in preparation and execution of dry-dockings

• Good communication skills

• Good organisational skills

• Able to coordinate and work under pressure

• Good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel)

• Willing to travel on a regular basis

• Team player
