    Description

    Experience Required:

  • 12+ years' experience in lineside Automation, Material Flow, Packaging and Logistics function of an Auto OEM or manufacturing enterprise
  • Experience in implementing/ handling material delivery systems (AMR/AGV/Conveyors/ASRS/PMHVs)
  • Experience in working with IT Teams for ensuring material flow integration with plant floor systems
  • Hands on experience in implementing automation of material delivery systems, robotics, cross-platform integration, plant floor systems integration with IT systems (., SMART, Fleet Manager, Sequencing and Kitting Systems)
  • Experience in implementation of Industry 4.0 projects (., IoT, IIoT, BLE)
  • Leadership experience handling a team of his/her own with proven track record of hands-on implementation done in prior roles
  • Experience with supplier selection/development
  • Experience with Warehousing planning and operations
  • In depth knowledge of global logistics operations and supply chain management. Knowledge of auto industry delivery requirements and logistics practices is an added advantage
  • In depth knowledge of ERP/CMMS3/MRP, especially knowledge on material planning module, production-planning module, warehouse management module.
  • The profile may require extensive travelling – and candidate must be open to working in flexible timings.
  • Automation Strategy and implementation:

  • Develop automation strategy for IMG, North America Programs for priority deployment based on existing material flow for all VO + PTO plants (existing & new manufacturing facilities)
  • Compare Ford regions & VOME with respect to automation strategy in the areas of process, integration to manufacturing & Ford systems, advance safety features, latest technologies, sourcing & maintenance Driving effective process and development of automation standards for NA and Global.
  • Benchmark OEMs Automation strategy (Auto OEMs/ Retail sector/Best in industry) for best practices to enhance Ford automation Strategy
  • Work with different automation system manufacturer's, including manufacturers from low-cost countries to leverage economies of scale / sign a strategic partnership with OEMs for deployment in FNA / global deployment.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering and IT to include all plant constraints/ challenges and IT systems interface to support Manufacturing 4.0. Developing Ford standards, driving to include in Supplier's scope and its execution. Aim to increase AI based technologies in automation strategy.
  • Work with Ford IT to ensure interoperability with Ford's plant floor systems (SKS/SMART etc.,) and ensuring compatibility with Ford IT's long-term vision of compatibility to iERP/ SAP
  • Develop detailed migration plan based on labor intensity of MFE process in the plant and respective business case
  • Leading MP&L Automation strategy and develop of Global / NA standards in collaboration with EU, FSAO & IMG regions.
  • Lead implementation in chosen plants, complete testing and handover to plant MP&L teams
  • Forward Model Planning:

  • Work closely with VOME from MR/PS stage, study the new model changes, finalize the material flow strategy and material delivery with increased automation in deliveries to line.
  • To liase with Advance Manufacturing Engineering Team for new model delivery concepts through automation for new programs
  • Aim for end-to-end material flow automations from Receipt of material from Tier 1 to POF, develop strategy for specific plants / programs and support estimation of F&T in MFE Forward Model Planning process.
  • Develop business case for automation and drive CPU reductions
  • Engagement with PD/VOME through Program milestones till MP1 to finetune strategy based on complexity & engineering changes
  • Forward Model Implementation :

  • Prepare SoW for automation including all the technical specifications – specific for each plant / process
  • Identity Supplier along with Purchase to bring right equipment for Resilient, fault tolerant hardware capable of operating for extended periods within the manufacturing facility
  • Responsible for Proto Trails, Validations, Implementations including Maintenance process and spares management strategy, RASIC alignment with all stakeholders, user manual and training to users
  • Current / Running Models:

  • Conduct a detailed study in material flow for existing plants in FNA and identify opportunities for implementing automation, with business case
  • Conduct feasibility study in improving the automation levels in MSCs and all external warehouses
  • Support with identification of automation use cases and implementation of identified opportunities
  • Education Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or above, major in Industrial Engineering/ Mechatronics
  • Master's degree in manufacturing engineering is preferred
