Job Description / Responsibilities
• Calculations and selection of different motor parts like bearings, shaft, casting and injection molded components etc.
• Mechanical construction, design and packing for rotor, stator, casing and cooling jackets
• Perform the DFMEA, Stack-up analysis, DVP, PVP for the motor
• Analyze localization requirements and designs / adapts products and solutions accordingly
• Able to work on cost reduction and continuous improvements with innovative solutions and manage / qualify vendors for hardware development requirements.
• Analyze and interpret analysis results, propose design changes and guide the analysis team to formulate the problem statement
• Support to manufacturing to solve the technical issues
• Work with supplier development team for TRA and localization of mechanical motor components
• Has basic knowledge of the National and international standards governing motors and its parts
• Capability of promoting standardization, use of best design practices and continuous improvement of products working within the framework of the New Product Implementation process as stated within the management guidelines
• Responsible for product launches catering to Indian market
• Responsible for solving field and manufacturing issues at customer site and plant.
• Preparation of Motor Test (Qualification, certification, DV) plans and execution of tests inhouse or external test labs
• Interface between manufacturing plant and product engineering team
• Working with Product Engineer, Testing and validation teams
• On need basis interfacing with suppliers
• On need basis work together with application engineering team to interact with customers to understand their issues, come-up with possible solutions discuss and align with product engineering team to arrive at agreeable solution
• Knowledge in APQP, Product validation in automotive
• Ready to travel to DANA TM4 plant on regular basis to represent the LV Motor product ngineering team at plant
• Knowledge of the Electrical and Electronics dealing with sensor, encoder issues, EOL issues, understanding and dealing with the customer quality issues,
• Good understanding of the preparation of the manufacturing line readiness and able to support the plant and manufacturing teams in troubleshooting and issue resolution)
