    Job Summary

    Provide legal support on legal matters, including contracts, regulatory, and other legal support as directed by GBS and lawyers for the Apotex Group of companies globally and within the mandate of the Legal Affairs department.

    Job Responsibilities

    Provides legal support services within the mandate of the Legal Affairs department (GTA Legal Team), for all business functions and activities of the Apotex Group, at the direction of lawyers, including:

  • Perform first level of review and abstraction of contract(s) terms from contracts or related documents in accordance with project guidelines and GTA Legal Team guidance / feedback
  • Communicate with GTA Legal and business stakeholders directly & also with internal stakeholders on email and phone
  • Report metrics appropriately
  • Contribute best practices for the work performed
  • Maintain confidentiality of all contracts information
  • Complete work on time along with maintaining the required quality
  • Ensure that the daily targets are achieved
  • Work as a team member
  • Work on different platforms (CLM tools) and adopt new technologies
  • Work on MS Excel, MS Word
  • Supports global corporate programs and systems, at the direction of lawyers and in collaboration with other internal stakeholders, to enhance the effectiveness of legal support.

    Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

    Job Requirements

    Education

  • Undergraduate degree. Legal degree preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and understand simple to complex contractual languages
  • High level of positive attitude (Can do attitude) and follow problem solving approach
  • Target Driven along with an eye for details
  • Quick learner and adaptive to any process change in a minimal time period
  • Good in written and verbal English
  • Ability to comprehend questions and respond appropriately (writing and verbal)
  • Knowledge of MS Office Word, Excel, PPT
  • Logical thinking and good decision-making abilities
  • Work independently, self-learning attitude, disciplined, sincere and need less supervision
  • Responsible for compliance with company standards and other confidentiality standards
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative business relationships.
  • Ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience

  • 6 months – 1 years of experience, (contract abstraction - preferred, but not a mandate), as an intern / trainee / in-house legal counsel in a large international company environment and / or in private practice at a top-tier law firm
