    What you will own:

    • You will collaborate with a team of system engineers in designing, developing, and supporting infrastructure platform and services for Health Catalyst Engineering teams including solutions for system management tools, operating systems, physical infrastructure, backup and recovery, scalable secure access workstations in a HIPAA compliant environment, VM images and containers, patching, centralized logging across the technology portfolio, modern identity management, scaled engineering, and cloud foundations
    • You will provide support for the infrastructure platform products owned by your team, including participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
    • You will understand and contribute to designs and strategies for the broader organization, the infrastructure platform, and services needed to support key initiatives.
    • You will actively problem solve and implement solutions while leveraging infrastructure as code, automated solutions, and pipeline-based deployments and configuration changes.
    • You will contribute to establishing and maintaining a team culture including hard-work, humility, and cooperation.
    • You will manage, organize, and distribute work to other contractors.
    • We Expect you to work on rotational shifts 24x7 Support.

    Important Technical Skills

    • Experience with Virtualization (VMWare), SAN, hyperconverged, and data retention (Cohesity/Data Domain) technologies.
    • Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): PowerShell Scripting, Azure CLI, Azure ARM, Terraform, and Ansible
    • Implementing and supporting highly available, resilient compute, data, and storage
    • Providing support and troubleshooting of all infrastructure
    • Experience with the implementation of security measures within datacenter and cloud infrastructure environments.
    • Supporting infrastructure in an Azure or public cloud environment
    • Azure Technologies: Azure Entra ID, Azure DevOps, Azure Key Vaults, Azure Policy, Azure Governance
    • Windows Server technologies: Active Directory, Group Policy, Patching
    • Implementation of identity management solutions, such as Azure Entra ID and Okta, within cloud infrastructure environments

    Nice-to-Have Technical Skills:

    • Experience with the software development life cycle including source control, automated testing, pipeline orchestration, and monitoring.
    • Experience with physical data center to public cloud migrations.
    • Network knowledge: DNS, Switching, Access List, Network Flow
    • Azure Technologies: Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Monitor, Azure Automation, Azure Kubernetes Service
    • Implementing and supporting the developer experience including tooling and governance
    • An understanding of best practices for building well-architected solutions on physical infrastructure and the public cloud
    • Data and Storage technologies: SQL Server, Block storage, File Shares, SFTP

    Information Security and Compliance Responsibilities

    • Maintain compliance with training directives required by the organization pertaining to Information Security, Acceptable Use Policy and HIPAA Privacy and Security.
    • Adhere to and comply with the organizations Acceptable Use Policy.
    • Safeguard information system assets by identifying and reporting potential and actual security events to the organizations Security and Compliance Officers.

    Preferred Experience & Education:

    • BS degree and demonstrable experience (3+ years) in infrastructure operations and automation.
    • 3+ years working experience with Azure and VMWare.
    • Superb communication and writing skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical partners.
