Rooftop, a platform dedicated to promoting Indian art forms, is seeking an experienced Art Book Designer to join our team.

This role involves creating visually compelling art books from scratch, including illustrations and book design, tailored to showcase the rich diversity of Indian traditional and folk art.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of book design, layout, and illustration, combined with a passion for arts and culture.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and illustrate art books that effectively communicate the themes and stories of Indian art forms.
Collaborate with artists, writers, and editorial teams to conceptualize and execute book projects.
Manage the entire design process from layout to production, including choosing paper, cover materials, and other design elements.
Ensure that all book designs are visually appealing, culturally accurate, and aligned with Rooftop's brand standards.
Utilize various design software and tools to create high-quality graphics and illustrations.
Coordinate with printers and other suppliers to ensure quality control in the final published products.
Stay updated with the latest trends in book design and publishing to continually enhance the quality of Rooftop's publications.

Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in book design and illustration.
A strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of book projects, particularly in the arts or cultural sectors.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and other relevant design software.
Excellent understanding of typography, color theory, and production processes.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively with different stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field is preferred.
