    Job Summary

    Responsible for providing cybersecurity subject matter expertise to team(s) that work cross-functionally to collect data, develop models and transform data for a variety of cybersecurity data sources in order to enhance governance, risk and compliance posture and continuously monitor key performance indicators within customer environments. Works with team members in both the US and India. In the role of Principal Cybersecurity Data Engineer, you will be an important technical leader within Comcast Technology Solution's exciting new cyber security business unit, which sells SaaS and subscription security solutions to the large enterprise and federal government. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering Cyber, you will be primarily responsible for the data model and data transforms that support DataBee, a new SaaS security, risk and compliance platform that was developed internally and used inside Comcast's SOC, and is now being made available for use by the Fortune 500 CISO customer base. You will work in a high pace, collaborative engineering environment to deliver value for DataBee customers. You also will be influential in creating a startup culture for the DataBee business unit, enabling and empowering your teammates to work in an agile fashion.

    Job Description

    Core Responsibilities

    • Lead discussions with business leaders and stakeholders to understand data and analysis needs and develop technical requirements.
    • Advise on the relevancy of data and identifies alternative data sources as needed to ensure analytics requested by business stakeholders can be completed.
    • Oversee analysis of large, complex cybersecurity data to determine actionable business insights using self-service analytics and reporting tools.
    • Combine data as needed from disparate data sources to complete analysis.
    • Work with product management to identify key business drivers and insights of value to customers.
    • Work with minimal supervision and direction while also mentoring data engineers in cybersecurity.
    • Promote and evangelize a culture of excellence, data driven discussions, healthy skepticism, intellectual curiosity, knowledge sharing, and teamwork.
    • Stay current with emerging trends in analytics, statistics, and machine learning and apply them to business challenges.
    • Consistently exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
    • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Additional Required Skills and Experience:

    • Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity data extraction, modeling and transformation.
    • Demonstrated expertise in executive reporting for GRC and other cybersecurity use cases.
    • Thorough understanding of cybersecurity tools, their APIs and log formats
    • Experience in applying data science and machine learning techniques to cybersecurity datasets.
    • Experience working in Agile Scrum development environments.
    • Experience working with GitHub and Jira or similar technologies.
    • Experience developing complex, performant SQL queries from large data stores.
    • Experience developing on a SaaS product preferred.
    • Scripting experience in Python or other language preferred.
