    Role: Unit Nursing Head

    Department: Nursing

    Location: Manipal Hospital Goa

    Experience: 10+ years of experience

    Brief Roles and responsibilities

    Leadership and Management:

    • Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff within the unit.
    • Manage day-to-day operations of the nursing unit, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
    • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration among staff members.

    Staff Supervision and Development:

    • Participate in Recruitment and sourcing Right Talent
    • Plan, implement relevant technical and behavioural training program based on Training Need Analysis at every Level.
    • Monitor Training Effectiveness with continuous effort to excellence.
    • Ensuring overall development and retention through proper training, engagement, career planning, Succession Plan and Upskilling team members

    Patient Care Coordination:

    • Ensure that patient care activities are carried out effectively and efficiently.
    • Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges within the unit.
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
    • Implement strategies to enhance Patient experience.

    Quality Assurance and Compliance:

    • Ensure that nursing practices comply with regulatory standards and guidelines.
    • Monitor quality indicators and implement measures to improve patient outcomes.
    • Investigate and address patient and family concerns or complaints related to nursing care.

    Budgeting and Resource Management with Business Accumen:

    • Develop and manage the unit budget, including staffing, supplies, and equipment.
    • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and increase efficiency without compromising patient care quality.

    Communication and Collaboration:

    • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, other healthcare professionals, and administration.
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration within the nursing unit and with other departments.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and committees to address patient care issues and quality improvement initiatives.
    • Strengthen Nurse Clinician Partnership and collaboration.
    • Organize Huddles, Skip levels meet with Interdisciplinary team members.

    Emergency Preparedness:

    • Develop and implement plans for responding to emergencies within the nursing unit.
    • Ensure that nursing staff are trained and prepared to handle emergency situations effectively.

    Performance Improvement:

    • Identify areas for performance improvement within the nursing unit.
    • Implement evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.
    • Monitor performance metrics and outcomes data to track progress and provide recommendations in building a High performing team.

    Qualification: B.Sc(N) / PcBSc (N) / M.Sc(N)/ Nurse Practitioner

    Additional Qualification if any: MBA/ MHA in any discipline / Quality accreditation Programs
