    Designation:
    Manager - R&D or NPD


    Location:
    Mumbai


    Reports to:
    Head NPD


    Key Interfaces:
    NPD Head, Brand Manager, Supply Chain


    Overall objective:


    Work closely with teams (including conducting field visits) to conduct quality tests, liaise with external agencies for carrying out tests on own brand products and imported partner brand products and also establishing quality procedures.


    Responsibilities:

    • Driving the innovation network to deliver new product funnel (Including pricing, positioning, product, and packaging).
    • Identifying vendors (product, packaging) for different segments in the beauty and personal care category.
    • Evaluating vendors based on commercial and quality parameters.
    • Closely working with product vendors at development stage.
    • Coordinate with packaging and product vendors to deliver launch on time
    • Create and build 'opportunities for growth' via technology scanning, understanding competitor product strategies in the Cosmetic domain.
    • Generate ideas for communication of differentiated claims, substantiated by rigorous scientific data.
    • Support manufacturing locations to standardise shades and collections.
    • Engage with manufacturing units to improve processes and Quality.
    • Coordinate with factory team to facilitate packing and filling trials
    • Market research on new active ingredients and competitive benchmarks
    • Investigating causes of quality problems and proposing solutions

    Work experience:

    • 46 years of work experience on managing quality / manufacturing (cosmetics manufacturing knowledge required) at a leading FMCG company

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science

    Skills & Competencies required:

    • Should have worked with contract manufacturers and testing labs (mandatory experience with cosmetics)
    • Good understanding of cosmetics contract manufacturing process
    • Wellversed with regulations and standards of cosmetics manufacturing
    • Demonstrated experience in quantitative analysis
    • Skilled in personnel management and building good working relationships
    • Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission
    • Ability to be flexible and multitask
    • Should have very good oral & written English communication
