Job description
The Service Engineer is responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Hyundai Construction Equipment excavators and Ajax Engineering Pvt Ltd equipment (Self-Loading Concrete Mixers & Batching Plants). The role ensures maximum machine uptime, prompt breakdown support, customer satisfaction, and compliance with OEM service standards.
Key Responsibilities1 Installation & Commissioning
- Perform Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) of Hyundai excavators and AJAX equipment.
- Install and commission machines at customer sites.
- Conduct operator training on safe and efficient machine operation.
2 Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance
- Perform scheduled maintenance as per OEM guidelines.
- Attend breakdown calls within defined TAT (Turnaround Time).
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults.
- Repair/replace pumps, hydraulic motors, cylinders, engines, sensors, wiring harness, and control modules.
3 Hydraulic & Engine Systems Expertise
- Troubleshoot hydraulic systems (main pumps, control valves, swing motors, travel motors).
- Diagnose diesel engines (turbocharger, fuel injection system, ECU faults).
- Handle CAN-bus systems and electronic control diagnostics.
4 Customer Support & Relationship Management
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and machine uptime.
- Explain service reports and maintenance schedules to customers.
- Promote spare parts, lubricants, and AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts).
- Coordinate with spare parts team for urgent requirements.
5 Warranty & Documentation
- Prepare job cards, service reports, and warranty claim documents.
- Follow Hyundai & AJAX warranty policies strictly.
- Maintain service history records in CRM/ERP system.
6 Safety & Compliance
- Follow OEM and site safety procedures.
- Use proper PPE at construction and infrastructure sites.
- Maintain service tools in good working condition.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering/Diesel.
- Good knowledge of hydraulic circuits and diesel engine systems.
