    Manager of Software Engineering, Morningstar India Pvt Ltd

    Morningstar India Pvt Ltd is seeking a Technical Manager to work within the Corporate Systems team.

    The Area: The Corporate Systems team manages and supports Morningstar's Corporate platforms like ServiceNow, Oracle ERP, Salesforce etc. used globally across IT Operations, HR, Marketing, Sales and Finance. Our primary responsibilities include:

  • Providing day to day support for Morningstar employees in the platforms and technologies they use to effectively market, sell, provide service and collect revenue for our products.
  • Offer guidance and technical expertise to all employees and business units as it relates to use of corporate applications.
  • Implement system improvements for improved operational efficiencies and compliance alignment across teams and business units.
  • Maintain and update Corporate systems to keep them updated from a security and release perspective.
  • Work with application vendors and internal resources to ensure ongoing integrity and availability of applications.
  • Provide a centralized way of tracking and managing corporate systems processes and procedures.
  • The Role: Technical Manager should possess strong technical skills in the area of supporting IT applications and people management with at least 10 years of experience and will manage teams supporting Morningstar's applications, effectively act as the single point of escalation for the support and operations team. Responsibilities also include facilitating the root cause analysis, management communication in partnership with various stake holders. Responsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced team members and or acting as a subject matter expert. Continuously develop and improve Functional knowledge of the application(s) and its interdependencies.

    This position is based in our Mumbai location at Vashi, Navi Mumbai and we follow a hybrid work policy.

    Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of developers who work with various technologies across our software environment.
  • Collaborate with product management team to establish product related tasks and schedules.
  • Collaborate with Software Architects, Product Managers, and Head of Software Development Team to make technical stack and architecture decisions.
  • Act as the business expert on technical and functional components.
  • Ensure the solution is implemented, involving other development teams as needed, focusing on coordinating their activities.
  • Using Agile methodology, lead the development through various stages of development lifecycle.
  • Ensure the development team adheres to established coding standards and embraces efficient and robust software engineering practices
  • Assist Director of Technology in designing and implementing new evaluation metrics, participate in goal setting employee performance evaluations and coaching individuals.
  • Contribute and develop solutions based on requirements using the best technology available for each scenario and in the estimated timeframe.
  • Collaborate across the ServiceNow platform team and business stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical specifications and functional requirements for ServiceNow solutions.
  • Reporting and Dashboards: Develop custom reports, performance analytics, and executive dashboards in ServiceNow to provide real-time insights into IT/HR service performance and key metrics. Experience with Performance Analytics a plus.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest ServiceNow features, tools, and best practices.
  • Proactive Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvements and provides recommendations for improvements to optimize ServiceNow solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all ServiceNow configurations, customizations, and developments.
  • Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of working experience as a ServiceNow Development, and 5 years in people management preferably with HRSD and/or ITAM product expertise.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices for IT Service Management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, effectively communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies is mandatory.
  • Accountable for the delivery of biweekly sprints for the development team as well as ensuring that platform incident SLAs are met
  • Leads daily scrum calls with development team, business analysts, and process owners.
  • Coordinate with Platform Architect to ensure designs meet development guidelines and best practices.
  • Ensures effective communication and coordination of offshore development team activities with onshore process owners and requestors.
  • Coaches' offshore development resources to close technical and soft skill gaps during weekly mentoring sessions
  • Provides leadership and participates in vetting new requirements on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Stays current on ServiceNow products and applicable integrated technologies.
  • Drives process improvements and ensures process adherence for the offshore development team.
