- Collaborate with the CTO & Founder to shape product direction and culture
- Design and build new features, simplify existing services, and scale our systems
- Integrate with third-party finance, payment, and communication systems
- Write sustainable, testable, high-quality code
- Ensure scalability, observability, and fault-tolerance in a microservices architecture
- Support, maintain, and debug microservices in a distributed system
- Work with our technology stack: Typescript, Firebase, Elasticsearch, GCP, Jest, GitHub Actions
- Collaborate with teammates through planning, pair programming, code review, and testing
- Contribute to setting the direction of our product, exploring solutions, and prioritizing features
- Highly knowledgeable and experienced backend engineer
- Solid experience with distributed applications and integrations with third-party solutions
- Excited about ensuring smooth scalability of systems
- Transparent and collaborative within a distributed team environment
- 3+ years of full-stack professional experience building and debugging distributed systems
- Enthusiastic approach to backend system architecture and API design
- Good understanding of payment gateways or server-to-server integrations with third-party financial systems
- Experience using agile/lean development practices
- Strong coding practices including writing technical specifications, peer code review, and testing
- Desire to architect and build scalable systems
- Act in compliance with infosec policies
