    Satellite Engineer - Design, Assembly, Integration and Testing

    Cosmicport, a space technology startup, is building a launch vehicle tailored for small and medium-range satellites, in addition to advancing Earth Observation Satellites (EOS) designed for Sun-Synchronous Orbits (SSO) to serve commercial entities. Our cost-effective reusable launch vehicle provides precise and dependable launch solutions, facilitating the establishment of constellation platforms. The role being offered involves significant contributions to the design, integration, and testing of EOS, and the incumbent will be an integral part of the Research and Development (R&D) satellite team.

    Responsibilities:

    1. As a key member of the Cosmicport Satellite Team, your role involves taking the lead in the design and development of Earth observation satellites. Your responsibilities include ensuring adherence to mission objectives and technical specifications. Additionally, you will be tasked with creating comprehensive step-by-step AIT procedures and assembly checklists for the Engineering team.
    2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate advanced technologies into satellite subsystems.
    3. Oversee the integration of Earth observation payloads onto satellite platforms, optimizing performance and end-to-end product realization process. This will include complete 3D CAD design, fabrication, inspection, and qualification of all ground support equipment.
    4. Contribute to mission planning, defining orbit parameters, data acquisition strategies, and mission timelines.
    5. Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate satellite functionality and troubleshoot technical issues.
    6. Maintain accurate documentation throughout the satellite development lifecycle.

    Basic Qualification:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Avionics/Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in Earth observation satellite design and development.
    • Proficiency in satellite systems engineering and subsystem integration.
    • Knowledge of spaceborne sensors and payloads.
    • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with satellite simulation and modeling tools.
    • Knowledge of CubeSat/Smallsats technology, specifically Synthetic Aperture Radar
    • Familiarity with remote sensing techniques and data processing.
    • Programming skills (e.g., C++, Python, MATLAB, Machine Learning, etc.) for satellite control and data analysis.
    • Ability to deliver against an aggressive schedule.

    Compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis with consideration of knowledge, skills, education, and experience. You may be eligible for annual bonuses. Insurance coverages and retirement plans are being worked upon and will be disclosed after hire.
