    Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility

    Software Technical manager works in growing and highly visible Professional Services (PS) engagements. This position will be responsible for delivering Point-Of-Sale (POS) solutions developed on NCR strategic Retail products/platform and cater to NCR Grocery & Convenience Retailers across different geographies. This role is required to work with multiple stake holders that includes development teams in PS and Engineering teams involving the roles but not limited to Solution Architects and Business Analysts towards providing robust and scalable & secure solutions to NCR customers in ever changing/dynamic Retail environment. Should provide strong leadership in creating solution delivery plans and executing in agile environment. Support & Own solution designs for new development and create migration paths for on-prem to cloud ready solutions. Contribute & support pre-sale and sales pipeline and sizing the opportunities with clear call outs – assumptions, dependency and etc. Ability to identify the risks and create mitigation plans & actively working to remove impediments involved in productization and solution development towards Customer Success. And brings-in assertive communication to reinforce the positive and congenial working environment within NCR and Customer teams.

    Responsibilities

  • Understand the Retail industry and NCR Clientele business requirements
  • Gap/Fit analysis with NCR Retail Product / Solution
  • Lead solution architecture/design discussions with BA, Development and Architect teams – NCR & Customers/vendors
  • Create solution development plans & deliver against the schedules
  • Remove technical and/or process impediments
  • Provide technical mentorship to developers & Architects
  • Works closely with Project / Program management to carve out solution development/ delivery roll out plans
  • Actively participates in Customer workshops and brings in the blend of product & technical expertise
  • Manage talented pool of Developers and nurture them for Next Generation tech. challenges
  • Owns the Development schedules, quality and customer satisfaction for NCR Customer Accounts.
  • Participate in code reviews and own delivery quality.
  • Opportunity Sizing for both new Projects for existing accounts and/or new projects for new accounts
  • People managing experience
  • Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject with software industry experience of 10+ years
  • Minimum of 6 years Solid development experience using C# and experience with .NET standard libraries - WPF, MFC, WinForms, WCF, COM Libs
  • 4+ years of experience in leading development team in an Agile/SCRUM setup, with demonstrable skills in project/task estimation, delegation, and leading technical conversation
  • Very good with data structures, design patterns, object-oriented design and algorithms used in programming.
  • Experience with large scale data base management (SQL Server, nHibernate, Entity Framework)
