Responsibilities
Financial Management: Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and manage all ledgers and accounting processes.
Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and prepare tax filings in a timely manner, including GST and inter-state commerce considerations.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management and regulatory agencies.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing detailed company budgets and perform financial forecasting to support business planning.
Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during audits and reviews to ensure compliance with all financial laws and regulations.
Cost Analysis: Conduct regular cost analyses and provide actionable insights to optimize profitability.
Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow management, ensuring sufficient funds for company operations and financial stability.
Payroll Oversight: Administer payroll procedures, ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
Inventory Management: Reconcile inventory accounts to the general ledger, participate in inventory counts, and ensure accuracy in records.
Financial Liaison: Act as a key point of contact for financial institutions and manage day-to-day banking relationships.
Advisory Role: Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the company (i.e., evaluation of potential alliances, suppliers, and/or customers).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience as an accountant, preferably within a company involved in import/export activities.
Strong understanding of accounting software and databases, with preference for candidates who have experience with software suited to international trade.
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and an ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
Knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working closely with both financial and non-financial members of the team.
