    Designation: Lead Design Engineer

    Reporting to: Project Lead Design

    Location: Bangalore, Full Time

    Qualification: BE / M-Tech in Mechanical Engineering

    Experience: Years

    Position Overview:

    This role is a crucial position within the Design team at Graver Technologies. As a Lead Design Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing engineering activities including detailed design, design calculations, tolerance stack-ups, and manufacturing drawings. The role requires ensuring the quality of deliverables, managing project timelines, and controlling costs effectively.

    Key Responsibilities / Functions:

    • Lead the design and development of new products from concept to production, while aligning with project objectives and timelines.
    • Supervise and mentor a team of design engineers, offering guidance and support throughout the product development process.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product management, marketing, and manufacturing to seamlessly integrate design solutions.
    • Provide substantial support to customers by crafting detailed responses to Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and conducting engineering calculations and designs.
    • Engage closely with customers to grasp their specific requirements and tailor solutions to meet their needs.
    • Participate in obtaining competitive quotes for both Code and Non-Code housings from different suppliers.
    • Drive continual improvement in design processes and implement enhancements based on feedback and data analysis.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design engineering.

    Required Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)

    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field
    • Experience in mechanical product design at system or sub-system level in the water treatment equipment industry.
    • Hands-on experience in design Code and Non-Code calculations.
    • Thorough understanding of materials, processes, and finishing operations.
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks software, with exposure to SolidWorks PDM, Routing, and Simulation add-ins as a plus.
    • Familiarity with GD&T, Tolerance stack-up, DFMEA, and Concept Selection Metrics.
    • Exposure to a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience in prototyping and testing including product performance and reliability tests.
    • In-depth knowledge of fabrications, piping, industrial structures, pressure vessels, tanks, valves, and pumps used in water treatment equipment.
    • Capability in planning, coordinating, and executing tasks related to new development, product enhancement, cost estimating, BOM management, value engineering, and analysis.
    • Prior exposure to a global engineering environment involving interactions and travel to multiple locations.
    • Knowledge and experience in technical writing is beneficial.
    • Develop tailor-made packaging solutions to ensure secure transportation of housing products for customers.
    • Consider product size, weight, fragility, and shipping requirements to design packaging that optimally protects the housing during transit.
