Aerospace Propulsion Engineer Position Summary
Drones Tech Lab is seeking an experienced Propulsion System Engineer to join our team. The role involves designing, analyzing, and optimizing propulsion systems for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong background in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mechanics, with experience in solid rocket motor manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop solid rocket motors, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Work on solid propellant motor tank design, grain geometry configuration, thermal insulator, and nozzle design.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing processes.
- Develop and implement process control methods to monitor and improve production efficiency and product consistency.
- Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations to address manufacturing defects and enhance product reliability.
- Handle energetic materials, conduct mechanical property testing, and perform thermal and mechanical property analysis of solid propellants.
- Develop and implement test setups for rocket motor systems and propellant configurations, ensuring proper data collection and analysis.

Requirements
Candidates should have a strong background in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mechanics, with experience in solid rocket motor manufacturing. Required skills include:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) with 3 to 5 years of experience in Solid/Liquid Propulsion.
- Experience in solid rocket motor manufacturing or a related aerospace manufacturing field.
- Strong understanding of solid rocket motor propellant configuration design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in CAD & FEA software and manufacturing process simulation tools.
- Experience with process control, quality assurance, and failure analysis methodologies.
- Experience with design of experiments and statistical analysis.
- Extensive experience organizing and analysing data with Excel and presenting data and findings of experiments using PowerPoint.
- LabVIEW and setting up pressure transducers and thermocouples.
- Responsible Integration of systems and other testing.
- Aerospace propulsion Safety awareness.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
