    The Policy & Data Compliance Analyst position is a part of the American Express Global Merchant Network Services – Merchant Operations.

    Policy & Data Compliance team (P&DC) provides support and establishes policies and requirements for interactions between the Network and Card-Issuing and Merchant-Acquiring Participants and their respective Card members, merchants, and third parties around the world.

    Policy & Data Compliance team is part of the GMNS organization and is responsible for enforcing & monitoring multiple compliance activities as laid down in Network and Merchant policy documents.

    The Analyst will support operational policy compliance programs, enforcement activities and governance activities for GMNS.

    These programs and activities are critical to strengthening overall Network performance, increasing customer satisfaction, and protecting the American Express brand.

    How will you make an impact in this role? Managing operational activities in support of policy compliance programs (Exception Governance, Industry Mandates, Policy Risk Assessment, Payment Card Industry, etc.) and Includes Network Participant performance monitoring, program management, and non-compliance follow-up.


    • Understanding Network Participant and Merchant relationships and collaborate with Partner Managers, Client Managers, Regulatory Compliance, GMS, GCO, Policy Development teams and other stakeholders to drive Network & Merchant policy compliance.
    • Analyzing data on Network Participant and Merchant performance, and identifying trends, gaps and opportunities areas.
    • Lead & support cross functional compliance projects
    • Supporting process improvements to enhance programs, and improve policy compliance, in coordination with other key stakeholders.
    • Supporting GMNS Merchant Operations leadership in evolving policy compliance programs
    • Providing general support on compliance related governance activities like Exception governance, Partner non-compliance fee governance, and risk & partner payments management.
    • Producing regular reporting/metrics on policy compliance programs and developing new reporting.
    • Acting as a subject matter expert on Policy Compliance deliverables. Minimum Qualifications Graduate / Post-graduate in Fraud/ Compliance/ Risk Management with 3 years of post-qualification experience. Key Skills Required Payment Industry knowledge (Global & Regional Policies & Mandates), Policy Compliance Operations, Brand Protection, Card Economics & Dispute Lifecycle, Transaction Lifecycle, AML, Audit Framework, Project Management experience preferred. Good knowledge of Policy Compliance requirements and consequence management Extensive stakeholder management experience is a must Ability to act as a back-up, as and when required, to perform Manager Role and Responsibilities and offshore business collaboration. Ability to understand the synergies between different Policy Compliance Programs and being able to draw inferences. Deeper understanding of Payment Industry, mandates, Regulations, Authorization and 1st Presentment data and the codes related to the same to be able to build better process capabilities. Understanding the network and merchant business model including processes and terminology. Excellent Communication skills and Data Visualization abilities. Role involves frequent communication with Senior Leadership across the globe. Story telling skills with ability to create compelling presentations. Self-starter with demonstrated ability in taking the initiative to address issues. - Strong eye for detail and organizational skills. Excellence in Ambiguity, Growth mindset and above all – knack of having fun. A team player with strong ability to build & leverage relationship. Strong customer focus & demonstrated problem solving and process improvement skills. Familiarity with MIS systems a plus (including Micro Strategy). Microsoft Office skills (specifically Excel, Word, Power Point, and Visio) Knowledge of credit card industry preferred.
