    Position Title: Physical Risk Consultant (Catastrophe modeler)

    Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka

    Role Summary:

    We are looking for a highly motivated and deeply enthusiastic catastrophe modeler to join our organization. Your responsibilities would include develop catastrophe models and perform scenario analyses to evaluate the impact of different types and magnitudes of hazards on different location and assets.

    Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

    • Modelling of atmospheric processes, hydrological and hydraulic processes.
    • Proficiency in developing climate related models along with handling of NetCDF files.
    • Knowledge of physics, mathematics, and statistics involved in climate related modelling.
    • Experience with Python or similar programming language.
    • Knowledge of Climate change, IPCC report, CMIP6, SSP scenarios.
    • Proficient in using computer programs to mathematically represent the physical characteristics of natural catastrophes and simulate the occurrence, severity, and impact of potential events.
    • Experience in handling hydroclimatic and atmospheric variables.
    • Perform scenario analyses to evaluate the impact of different types and magnitudes of catastrophes on different location and assets.
    • Good to have knowledge of PostGIS.

    Education & Experience:

    -Masters or PhD level degree in natural catastrophe sciences like Drought, Flood, Tropical Cyclone, Wildfire, Sea level rise.

    -1 or more year experience in catastrophe modelling

    Skills:

    Troubleshooting the hazard models as per requirement.

    Strategic vision, Strong technical and analytical capabilities.

    Strong reporting and writing abilities.

    Good communication, able to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise way.
