Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Back-end Developer to join our Development team at Adaan.

Reporting to the Head of Digital Tools and Applications, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining server-side logic and databases for web applications and digital products.

Key Responsibilities Areas (KRAs):

Back-end Development:
Design, develop, and implement server-side logic and APIs using programming languages - , or Express js
Architect and optimize database schemas and queries for efficient data storage, retrieval, and manipulation.

KPI:
Timely and accurate completion of back-end development tasks.

Database Management:
Design and develop database schemas, data models, and data storage solutions to support application requirements.
Perform database administration tasks such as data migration, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.

KPI:
Efficiency and effectiveness in database management tasks.

API Development and Integration:
Develop RESTful APIs and web services to facilitate communication between front-end systems, third-party services, and back-end databases.
Integrate back-end components with front-end systems and external APIs, ensuring seamless data exchange and functionality.

KPI:
Effective integration of APIs with front-end and third-party systems.

Testing and Quality Assurance:
Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing to validate functionality and ensure robustness of back-end systems.
Perform debugging and troubleshooting to identify and resolve technical issues and bugs.

KPI:
Successful testing and resolution of back-end technical issues.

Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, designers, and project managers to understand project requirements and contribute to technical discussions.

Communicate effectively with team members to provide updates on development progress, share technical insights, and address technical challenges.

KPI:
Effective collaboration and communication within cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:
Master's / Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Software Knowledge:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Database management i.e. MySQL, MongoDB

Essential Requirements:
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as , or Express js
Strong understanding of database management systems, SQL, and ORM frameworks.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Skills / Requirements:
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
Knowledge of cloud platforms and services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience :

5 years of work experience in a similar role.
