    Description

    IT System Administrator

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT System Administrator to join the India team of most cutting-edge and well-funded storage start-up in Silicon Valley. The ideal candidate will be maintaining our network infrastructure and managing EDA server rack infrastructure. This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical expertise and the ability to ensure the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.

    Location: Bangalore, KA. India

    Qualification and Skillset Requirements

    • 5 or more years of proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
    • Very strong interpersonal skills, team collaboration and communications skills required
    • Expert knowledge of OS user, group creation, administration, HMC administration
    • Solid foundation with NFS client/server administration, SUDO configuration, LDAP client administration
    • In depth familiarity with shell scripting (Bourne and Bourne relatives), automation programming (i.e., sed, awk, Perl, Python)
    • Knowledge of FlexLM license files and licensing administration software
    • Experience with Synopsys, Mentor, Xilinx, Cadence, Perforce software installation
    • Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent

    Roles And Responsibilities

    • Configure, manage, and fix Fortinet Firewalls and routers and switches from different vendors
    • Troubleshoot complex network problems affecting LAN, WAN, Internet connections, and issues of end user services
    • Design for disaster recovery operations and data backups
    • Performing operating system maintenance and hardening, including OS installation, configuration, patching, and security configurations
    • Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring
    • Monitor datacenter health using pre-existing management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers as needed
    • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, intranet and so on
    • Install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software and hardware related problems, update license files and maintain license software server
