    About the role

    The Senior Data and AI Risk Specialist role is a global role that reports into the Data and AI Risk Lead and will involve working with them to ensure that a standardised and compliant way of managing the data and AI risk across Haleon is clearly defined and being adhered to.

    This is a critical role for Haleon to remain compliant whilst enabling competitive advantage through the use of data and AI. The role will have high visibility to senior leadership and be required to operate with a degree of autonomy, leveraging your subject matter expertise in data risk and compliance activities to support the evolving operating model defined by the Data and AI Risk Lead

    The role will be responsible for operational activities in order to manage the data and AI risk, typically involving managing regulatory artefacts, performing internal audits on the effective adherence to policies/standards, implementing and tracking Key Risk Indicators, defining and driving change where required.

    Key responsibilities

  • Operational accountability for one or more of the key areas of data and AI risk management (e.g. Data and AI risk universe management, audit processes)
  • Creation and implementation of policies and standards, managing risks, implementing responses to new regulations/laws, managing independent assessments and audits/reviews.
  • Ensure appropriate availability of training/reference materials, document/artefact management, risk management and audit, aligned with the organisation's relevant policies and standards in what is a rapidly evolving landscape.
  • Ensure the Data Office teams remain compliant with established Haleon, GxP and other relevant regulatory compliance standards, managing deviations and instigating, defining and managing CAPAs, mitigation plans.
  • Be a key member of the Data and AI Risk team in the Data Office, working with senior stakeholders to provide subject matter expertise in specific areas of Data and AI risk, under the guidance of the Data and AI Risk Lead.
  • Contribute to evolution of the operating model required to manage the data and AI risk, remaining engaged in the changing data and AI landscape and the impact to our risk management operations.
  • Be an integral member of the Haleon risk community, tasked with contributing to the appropriate forums to actively manage the data and AI risk on behalf of Haleon, supporting and informing senior stakeholders to enable them to make key decisions and take appropriate actions to effectively manage our data and AI risk.
  • Support the Data and AI Risk Lead in formulating innovative solutions to new and complex risks brought about using data and AI, including the use of technology to manage our risk at scale and effectively. Be responsible for implementing these solutions as required.
  • Qualifications and skills

    Essential

  • 7 + years of previous experience in a regulatory or compliance role that involves the application of risk management techniques/principles, with experience of creating and implementing policies, standards and other tools to manage risk.
  • Previous experience working with Quality Management Systems in multi-faceted organisations.
  • Ability to implement responses/mitigations to identified risks in line with new regulations or laws, managing independent assessments and audit reviews, investigate deviations and instigate, define and manage CAPAs.
  • A good understanding of relevant regulatory guidelines for data, technology and AI.
  • Display a strong awareness of the current landscape in terms of data and AI and associated risks. AI is in its relative infancy and so any candidate must display a good understanding of this area and a passion to continue learning, being able to apply that knowledge in practical terms.
  • Display original thinking and ability to collaborate to ideate and implement innovative solutions to complex problems, aligned to the organization's data and AI risk appetite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to identify and establish relationships with senior stakeholders and be able to simplify complex problems to be quickly understood.
  • Preferred

  • Bachelors degree or local equivalent. Proven experience of data risk management in a large organization.
  • Knowledge of regulatory landscape for pharmaceutical Marketing Authorisation Holders (MAHs) globally.
  • Knowledge of Information/Data Security.
  • Previous experience in implementation or design of Quality Management Systems in multi-faceted organisations.
  • Experience in managing AI risk
