    Title: Nurse Coordinator, Immunization.
    Salary: $91,122 - $107,448 per year (pay range explained below).
    Contract: Permament.
    Hours: Full-Time: 37.5 hours per week.
    Location: Metro Vancouver Offices (Hybrid at 50% or Remote work may be possible). Please note, this role may be relocating to our new office building in North Vancouver on Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN) land, south of Mount Seymour Parkway, after April 2024.
    Bargaining unit: Professional Institute of Public Service for Canada.

    About the role
    In partnership with First Nations communities and organizations, the FNHA and other government and non-government partners and other interested and affected parties, the Immunization Nurse Coordinator plans, coordinates, and evaluates clinical public health services in assigned areas of Community and Public Health Collaborative Practice (CPHCP) Team, specifically, Immunization program initiatives, for First Nations communities in British Columbia.

    You will work with the CPHCP Clinical Nurse Specialist for Immunization to establish and coordinate a number of Immunization programs, including the Immunization Competency Program. Provide support to the Immunization Nurse Advisor(s) with capacity building, clinical support, skills checklist assessments for CHNs, and education, and orientation for the Practice Consultants and Regional leads. Participate in confirming that quality assurances are in place for immunization programs, including immunization competencies and incident reporting review and mitigation.

    About you
    To be successful in this role you will have/be -

  • Bachelor of Nursing with a community health component plus three to five (3-5) years of experience in Immunization programming and experience working with First Nations people, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification
  • Current BCCDC Immunization Competency course or equivalent
  • Masters or equivalent is an asset
  • Current practicing registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • You may have -

  • Knowledge of, and ability to apply, an understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols in work situations.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to apply, navigate of regional relationships between FNHA, Regional health authority and First Nations Communities to support best practice in delivery of immunization services for community wellness.
  • Knowledge of the planning, coordination, and delivery of public health programs with particular strengths in Immunization and Communicable disease control and prevention.
  • Knowledge of advanced immunization nursing practice, principles, and clinical management of deviations from these.

    The Pay Range is the minimum (Step 1) and maximum (highest Step) annual base salary based on full time equivalent hours.
