    What does this role hold for you.??


    We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Legal Expert with a strong background in fintech and financial services to join our team.

    This role will be responsible for managing cybercrime cases, staying updated on cyber laws, reporting fraud incidents, liaising with law enforcement, and monitoring competitor activities to mitigate potential risks.

    Responsibilities:

    a) Investigate and analyze cybercrime incidents reporting in the company.

    b) Conduct in-depth research and analysis of regulatory requirements and industry best practices relevant to our fintech payments product.

    c) Develop and implement compliance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks.

    d) Develop and implement strategies to detect, prevent, and respond to fraudulent activities.

    e) Regularly interact with legal authorities, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders to stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting our operations.

    f) Provide legal counsel and guidance to internal teams on contractual matters, risk management, and dispute resolution.

    g) Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, operations, and finance, to proactively address legal and compliance issues.

    h) Conduct internal audits and assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.

    i) Stay abreast of emerging trends and developments in the fintech industry, sharing insights and recommendations with senior management.

    j) Conduct regular assessments of competitor activities related to cybersecurity and fraud prevention.

    k) Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documentation, including terms of service, privacy policies, and regulatory filings.

    l) Provide training and education to product and business teams on legal and compliance matters to promote a culture of compliance and risk mitigation.

    Apply if you have:

    • Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (BA & LLB) degree from a recognized institution.
    • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of legal experience, with a focus on financial services.
    • Proven experience in handling cybercrime investigations and fraud detection within a corporate environment.
    • Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including but not limited to data protection, consumer protection, payment systems, and financial transactions.
    • Proven track record of successfully navigating regulatory challenges and implementing compliance programs in the fintech, financial services or banking sector.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts to nonlegal stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment, with a proactive and solutionoriented approach.
    • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Professional certifications or memberships in legal associations related to fintech and compliance (desirable)
