Job Description / Responsibilities

The Office Assistant will support day-to-day administrative and ancillary office activities to ensure smooth functioning of operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accompany transporter with goods to the lorry office and handle receipt of incoming goods
  • Dispatch documents, samples, and parcels through courier services and maintain dispatch register
  • Scanning, photocopying, printing, and systematic filing of documents
  • Upload scanned documents to designated folders or software systems
  • Assist in maintaining stock of office stationery and consumables
  • Support front desk activities receiving visitors and handling incoming calls when required
  • Run errands such as bank visits, post office tasks, and local government office submissions
  • Assist in organizing files, registers, and records for easy retrieval
  • Coordinate with housekeeping staff for office cleanliness and meeting room arrangements
  • Perform any other office support tasks assigned by supervisors

Desired Profile of the Candidate

  • Basic understanding of forms (in both English and Tamil) and ability to fill them accurately after training
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform routine tasks independently
  • Basic communication skills in Tamil; functional English preferred
  • Familiarity with basic computer operations — email, file management, printing
  • Punctual, reliable, and willing to take up varied tasks
  • Physically fit for errands and light material handling
  • Honest and trustworthy in handling documents and cash (if required for errands)
  • Prior experience in office/admin support is a plus but not mandatory
