SOP Writer (Study Abroad)

Our expanding consultancy firm is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and skilled SOP Writer to join our team focused on assisting students with their applications for studying abroad. As an SOP Writer, you will play a crucial role in crafting compelling Statements of Purpose (SOPs) tailored to individual student profiles. Your primary objective will be to effectively communicate students' academic achievements, career goals, and personal aspirations to enhance their chances of admission to prestigious educational institutions worldwide. The successful candidate will have a strong grasp of academic writing, exceptional research skills, and a passion for helping students achieve their educational dreams.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct in-depth interviews with students to understand their academic background, career aspirations, and personal experiences.

2. Craft well-written, personalized Statements of Purpose (SOPs) that highlight students' unique qualities, achievements, and motivations.

3. Ensure SOPs adhere to the specific requirements and guidelines of each university or educational program.

4. Conduct thorough research on universities, programs, and relevant academic fields to tailor SOPs accordingly.

5. Edit and proofread SOPs to ensure clarity, coherence, and grammatical accuracy.

6. Collaborate with the counseling team to gather necessary information and insights for SOP creation.

7. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their SOP drafts.

8. Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in statement of purpose writing and study abroad admissions.

9. Manage multiple SOP writing projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

10. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling students' personal information and academic records.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as an SOP writer, academic writer, or similar role, preferably in the study abroad consultancy sector.

2. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in writing Statements of Purpose for undergraduate or graduate programs.

3. Excellent writing skills with a keen eye for detail and a strong command of grammar and syntax.

4. Ability to conduct effective interviews and extract relevant information from students.

5. Familiarity with different academic systems, international education standards, and university admissions processes.

6. Strong research skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and concise prose.

7. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other relevant software for document editing and formatting.

8. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with students from diverse backgrounds.

9. Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.

10. A bachelor's degree in English, journalism, education, or a related field is preferred.

Location: Kadavanthara, Kochi, Kerala. (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to 30,000 per month
