    Position Summary & Objective

    The Software Engineer III partners with the product team to develop software solutions for the business.

    This role reviews business requirements as well as designs, implements, and unit tests software.

    Essential Functions Performed by the Position

    1. Collaborates and reviews requirements proposed by the Product Owner / Business Analyst to understand, document, estimate, design, implement, and unit test viable software solutions.
    2. Develops solid, scalable information systems that support the continuously evolving needs of clients and internal operational teams.
    3. Ensures information systems scale and support new features for delivery.
    4. Collaborates with team lead to ensure accurate collection of information through reporting infrastructure.
    5. Modifies existing software to fix bugs, adapt to new requirements and improve performance.
    6. Maintains code quality, tests coverage and codes reviews following standard guidelines.
    7. Collaborates with and supports the quality assurance team to ensure the timely delivery of quality software.
    8. Serves as a member of self-organized Scrum teams. Follows Agile practices and actively participates in backlog refinement as well as release and sprint planning activities.
    9. Designs and implements services and APIs supporting applications using microservice architecture for application development or data services.
    10. Leads, inspires and helps to develop fellow engineers to be a high performing, driven and collaborative team.
    11. Functions as point of contact for escalations and crucial stakeholder requests.

    Technical Know How Required for each scope of work

    • Java Engineer
    • Programming framework/language: Java 8 and higher, Spring Boot.
    • System Design
    • Databases: Any SQL DB or MongoDB.
    • Experience using and developing Restful APIs.
    • Cloud Exp - AWS or Azure
    • Good knowledge in Machine Learning ML concepts
    • Experience with messaging and streaming platforms (RabbitMQ), cloud computing.
    • Experience in automating build deployments, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery is preferred.
    • Experience with client-side (browser) web application development (Vanilla JavaScript, JQuery, KnockoutJS, Angular, Vue or React) is preferred.

    Position Qualifications

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree in computer sciences or equivalent degree.

    Experience:

    4+ years of experience working as a software engineer developing commercial software.

    Certifications/Licenses:

    Any technical certification preferred. i.e., Cloud, Data.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    1. Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, enterprise-class software on-time and of high quality.
    2. Knowledgeable in the software development lifecycle.
    3. Working knowledge of source control systems like Git.
    4. Experience working in Agile-oriented teams, especially SCRUM or Kanban.
    5. Possess effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal (for non-English speaking countries).
    6. Very strong problem-solving skills and algorithm knowledge.
