Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager (Associate Director) in Indirect Taxation to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of indirect tax laws and regulations, with a focus on compliance, advisory, and strategic planning. This role involves overseeing all aspects of indirect taxation, including VAT/GST, customs duties, excise duties, and other related areas. The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with tax laws, minimize tax risks, and optimize tax efficiency

Roles & Responsibilities:

Tax Filings:

Ensure accurate and compliant preparation and filing of tax returns, while also monitoring changes in tax laws and promptly communicating potential impacts to finance and management teams

GST Compliance:

Lead GST compliance efforts, including timely submission of returns, meticulous management of input tax credit and payments, and conducting routine audits to ensure adherence to GST regulations

Tax Planning & Strategy:

Collaborate with the finance and management teams to develop tax planning strategies that optimize tax efficiency and minimize tax liabilities.

- Provide expert advice on tax implications for business decisions, mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions

Tax Audits & Assessments:

Coordinate and liaise with external auditors and tax authorities during tax audits and assessments.

Prepare and submit necessary documentation and responses to address tax queries and disputes.

Risk and Compliance Management:

Identify and assess tax-related risks, implementing controls and procedures to mitigate potential risks.

Ensure the company's tax compliance aligns with internal policies and regulatory requirements

Required Skills:

- 10+ years experience in indirect taxation, preferably in a managerial role

- In-depth knowledge of VAT/GST, customs duties, excise duties, and other indirect tax laws and regulations

- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members

- Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems, with advanced Excel skills

- Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment

- Strong ethical standards and commitment to compliance and integrity

- Educational Qualification: CA is mandatory
