    Role & Responsibility

    As the Head of Land & Project Legal in the Renewable Energy Sector, you will be responsible for overseeing all legal aspects related to land acquisition, land use, permitting, and real estate transactions within the renewable energy projects undertaken by the company. Your role will involve collaborating closely with internal teams such as project development, finance, and external stakeholders including landowners, government agencies, and legal counsel to ensure compliance with regulations, mitigate risks, and secure necessary approvals for the successful development and operation of renewable energy projects.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Lead and manage the land legal team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure efficient and effective execution of land-related legal activities.

    2. Develop and implement strategies for land acquisition, negotiation, and leasing agreements, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and objectives.

    3. Conduct due diligence assessments on potential land & projects sites, evaluating legal risks, land title issues, environmental considerations, and regulatory requirements.

    4. Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents such as purchase agreements, lease agreements, easements, licenses, and other land-related contracts.

    5. Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and local authorities to obtain permits, licenses, zoning approvals, and other necessary regulatory clearances for project development.

    6. Provide legal advice and support to project development teams on matters related to land rights, land use regulations, environmental compliance, and property rights.

    7. Manage disputes and litigation related to land & projects related issues, including boundary disputes, landowner conflicts, and regulatory challenges.

    8. Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting land use and renewable energy projects, and communicate potential impacts to relevant stakeholders.

    9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project management, engineering, finance, and environmental compliance to ensure seamless integration of land-related legal requirements into project planning and execution.

    10. Represent the company in negotiations, hearings, and meetings with landowners, community groups, government agencies, and other stakeholders to address concerns, resolve issues, and build positive relationships.

    Qualifications:

    1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction.

    2. Minimum of [20-25] years of experience practicing law with a focus on real estate, land & Project related use, environmental law, or energy law, preferably within the renewable energy sector.

    3. Strong understanding of land acquisition processes, property rights, real estate transactions, and regulatory frameworks governing land use and development.

    4. Proven experience in negotiating complex land & Project related agreements, drafting legal documents, and managing legal aspects of large-scale development projects.

    5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to non-legal stakeholders.

    6. Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in managing legal teams and driving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    7. Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate legal risks, identify opportunities, and develop proactive solutions to mitigate potential issues.

    8. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, collaborate cross-functionally, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

    9. Sound judgment, integrity, and ethical conduct in dealing with confidential information and sensitive matters.

    10. Extensive travelling as needed to project sites and client's meetings.
