    Job Purpose:
    This role has core focus on Industrial Relations, Leading the development and delivery of Employee Relations strategies.

    A high calibre individual with energy, resilience and strong relationship management ability who will bring ideas and experience of new ways of doing things.

    Tasked with changing and modernising behaviours and building positive relationships with management.

    He / she must be accustomed to managing difficult negotiations using strong stakeholder management experience to build momentum and positive change.

    Robust, motivated and determined, the individual will have a clear passion for the area with the ability to operate successfully in a complex business.


    Principal Accountabilities:

    • Design and deliver an overarching industrial relations strategy with the key focus on remodelling Trade Union relationships
    • Own and develop the relationships with senior officials of Trade Unions
    • Support Head of HR, HR Business Partners and line managers in negotiations with Trade Unions on a wide range of company issues
    • Design and development of ER policy, processes and tools to deliver required changes at all levels of the organisation
    • Set direction, create policy and offer expert advice in all matters relating to collective bargaining and industrial relations issues.
    • Support HR Head in annual CL Manpower budgeting, Planning & deployment.
    • Identify current & potential risks at site and evolve plans to mitigate.
    • Work with Head of HR, Finance, managers and HR Business Partners to develop pay and other negotiating mandates for use across all bargaining groups
    • Build IR skills and expertise across the HR department, including capabilities in labour legislations.
    • Coordinate and integrate all IR activity across the business into a coherent plan
    • Support and align cultural and behavioural change necessary for all corporate IR/ER programmes
    • Foster strong links with external networks and share best practice in the field of Industrial Relations.
    • Handle labour dispute between employee and company, as a liaison to the government, and as a management representative
    • Lead the compliance tools at Site and assure the data sanctity with due compliance.
    • Analyse & evolve the existing IR monitoring systems, using new digital platforms.
    • Responsible for updating self on the changes to labour laws, arbitration/court decisions and anything else that may affect unionmanagement relations or employeemanagement relations.

    Skills (practised capability/behaviour):

    • Experience of complex union negotiations / consultations
    • Strong knowledge of Factory Act, Contract Labour (R&A) Act, BOCW Act, Inter State Migrant Act, EPF, ESIC, and other applicable labour laws
    • Excellent communication and influencing skills
    • Excellent decision making & problem solving skills

    Qualifications (Essential or desirable):

    • Recognised qualification in one or more of the following:
    • MBA in HRM/MSW
    • LLB in Labour Laws (Desirable)

    Experience (On the job):

    • Large/complex union negotiations
    • Multiunion experience
    • Formulation of medium and long term IR strategy
    • Behavioural and cultural change experience
