    About Us

    Centre for Energy, Environment and People is a Jaipur-based human-centric research and policy advocacy initiative driving critical research and fostering democratic coalitions for low carbon transition and climate justice. We work at the intersection of energy, environment and people to enable institutional response, investments and political shift towards clean energy and sustainable practices. As an institution, we prioritise addressing socio-economic disparities and vulnerabilities faced by disadvantaged individuals and groups through inclusive and representative policy action.

    About the role

    We are looking for a dynamic individual to undertake critical research in the aforementioned thematic areas. The work shall focus on enabling critical understanding of issues, democratization and inclusion in relevant spaces, inclusive policy action, institutional transparency and accountability, and more. The candidate shall be working to foster coalitions for inclusive policy action, engage relevant institutions and agencies, and actively facilitate voices meaningful inclusion.

    Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan (remote work is not an option)

    Preferred Qualifications: Academic training in Engineering (preferably electrical or power systems) and Public Policy, or relevant in the domain electricity distribution, power sector, energy modelling, sustainable mobility.

    Work Experience: 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience

    • Facilitate network building with relevant stakeholders across bureaucracy, academic, peers, civil society organizations and industry.
    • Foster coalitions to facilitate inclusive dialogues and collective action
    • Critical research and policy analysis
    • Engage relevant institutions and agencies
    • Manage documentation, research and publications
    • Manage webinar and events
    • Support and mentor teams
    • Provide functional leadership to various initiatives and projects
    • Represent the organization on appropriate platforms
    • Support fund raising activities
    • Develop and execute change strategies

    • Should have a sound understanding of power systems and clean technology landscape.
    • Reasoning and analytical ability; Strong conceptual skills
    • Excellent writing, editing and publishing skills, along with the ability to articulate multi-dimensional narratives in a simple manner
    • Ability to foster consistent meaningful engagement with key stakeholders
    • High level of maturity and strong interpersonal skills
    • Understanding of the energy sector and climate change paradigms
    • Leadership skills to support cross-functional teams

    Remuneration: LPA (including variable pay) and above, based on experience and competencies.
