    Overview:

    In this role, the Lead Engineer/ Sr. Lead Engineer (Test Rigs) will actively participate in Test rigs development activities along with automation, customization to enable testing of products/systems of Collins Aerospace Advance structures Product development business unit.

    Position: Lead Engineer/ Sr. Lead Engineer (P2/P3) – Test Rigs

    Primary Responsibilities:

  • Experience in developing closed loop test rig control system using NI Labview, NI Test Stand platforms or any other controllers.
  • Experience in integrating electrical, control, hydraulic and mechanical modules of rig into one final test rig.
  • Experience in control system architecture, programming, tuning, validation and commissioning.
  • Experience in PLC, multi axes controllers. NI DAQ systems and its programming.
  • Experience in integrating VFD drives, Servo valves, Proportional Valves and solenoid valves into test rigs.
  • Experience in developing custom software for test rigs.
  • Experience in designing and developing test rig electrical modules.
  • Experience in understanding the requirement and writing specification / requirements for test rigs.
  • Good Knowledge in measuring instruments, data acquisition and instrumentation calibration.
  • Preparing conceptual design for electronic circuits, component & material Selection.
  • Should be capable of interacting with test rig supplier and conducting review meeting and validation of test rigs at supplier places.
  • Support the system suppliers during installation and commissioning of the test rig.
  • Management of budget, facility, and resources within existing lab environment.
  • Actively participate in a team environment to meet project objectives.
  • Strong application of health and safety compliance and risk assessment
  • Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent.
  • 8 to 12 years of industry experience in preparing control systems for mechanical test rigs and related activities.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in test rigs development for hydraulic and electro-mechanical products.
  • Knowledge of aerospace product compliance, qualification, and certification.
  • Good communication skills and dealing with multi functional teams
