    Role & responsibilities

    Job Description:

    We are seeking a motivated and skilled VMware Administrator with 2 years of hands-on experience in managing virtualized infrastructure using VMware vSphere, vCenter, and Microsoft Hyper-V. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the health and stability of the virtual environment, performing upgrades, monitoring system performance, and resolving infrastructure issues.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Administer, maintain, and support VMware vSphere and vCenter environments.
    • Perform virtual machine provisioning, cloning, snapshot management, and storage assignments.
    • Manage and monitor Hyper-V infrastructure, including VM lifecycle and performance tuning.
    • Conduct patch management, system updates, and backup/recovery of virtual machines.
    • Implement and monitor high availability, DRS, vMotion, and Storage vMotion as needed.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve ESXi host and VM-related issues promptly.
    • Assist in capacity planning and resource optimization across virtual environments.
    • Maintain documentation related to configurations, SOPs, and infrastructure changes.
    • Collaborate with network, storage, and security teams to ensure smooth operations.

    Required Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter, and Hyper-V.
    • Experience with ESXi host configuration, datastore management, and resource allocation.
    • Familiarity with backup solutions, disaster recovery, and VM migration techniques.
    • Basic understanding of networking and storage in virtualized environments.
    • Good troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
    • Strong communication and documentation skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or similar certifications (preferred).
    • Exposure to scripting (Power CLI/PowerShell) for automation (a plus).
    • Familiarity with tools like Veeam, Zerto, or other backup/replication tools.
