About Jan Sahas: Jan Sahas means 'People's Courage'. Is a 23-year-old community-centric organization working intensively in villages and urban areas of 97 districts across 13 states of India. Jan Sahas works with the most excluded social groups on safe migration and workers' protection and prevention of sexual violence against women and children. Our vision is to ensure dignity and equality for all, while our mission centers on safe migration, worker protection, and ending violence against women and children, with a particular focus on marginalized communities.

Jan Sahas soon developed this into a mass social movement. Over the past two decades, Jan Sahas has taken the same principles of dignity and community leadership to impact two other major excluded groups across India: survivors of sexual violence and migrant families and one cross-cutting initiative that seeks to build an ecosystem for community-led organizations working on similar issues. We adopt a comprehensive approach of prevention, response, rehabilitation, and systemic reform, addressing these issues through legal and social support, land and property rights, skill development, livelihood promotion, mental health assistance, and early childhood care and education. With a national and regional presence, we actively engage with state governments and civil society organizations, undertaking capacity-building and advocacy efforts to drive lasting change and create a more equitable society

Jan Sahas also focuses on the areas of Early education, nutrition, and health & hygiene services to ensure the psycho-social and nutritional development of children from under-resourced communities. These partners help us understand the importance of quality early childhood care and education and have in-depth knowledge of the dynamics of the community they work with to address the agenda of change the project wants to bring about.
