- Supporting and advising business teams, including executives, managers, employee relations, information services, and operations regarding compliance with existing and forthcoming labor and employment laws and regulations.
- Advising on issues such as discipline, non-competition, redundancies, leave, disability, contingent workers, equity, contractor management, occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination, wage and hour, and union/labor relations
- Drafting service provider, commission, non-compete, handbooks and policies, employment, and settlement agreements
- Conducting internal investigations
- Managing litigation, outside counsel, and budgets
- Juris Doctorate, Bachelor of Laws, or equivalent degree in Laws
- Licensed/authorized to practice law in any jurisdiction in the US or in any jurisdiction within the APAC and MAIR regions, in good standing
- At least 5 years of experience in a top law firm preferred
- In-house experience working in the law department of a Fortune 500 company highly desirable, but not required
- Strong knowledge of, and practical experience advising on labor and employment laws and regulations
- Practical experience working with trade unions preferred
- The ability to identify, analyze, assess, and communicate legal risks to enable internal clients to make quality, risk-adjusted business decisions.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent business judgment and ability to work independently
- Fluent oral and written English required. Fluency in additional languages an asset
