Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the Head of Mining Operations, specializing in liaison with government departments in Karnataka.

This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and fostering positive relationships with government authorities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mining operations management, coupled with extensive experience in engaging with government departments in Karnataka.

Responsibilities:1.


Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant mining laws, regulations, and guidelines issued by the Karnataka government.
Develop and implement strategies to address regulatory challenges and optimize operational efficiency.2.

Government Liaison:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key government departments.
Represent the company in meetings, hearings, and negotiations with government officials to address operational issues and secure necessary approvals.3.

Permitting and Licensing:
Oversee the process of obtaining and renewing mining permits, licenses, and environmental clearances from government authorities.
Ensure that all documentation and submissions are in compliance with regulatory requirements.4.

Community Relations:
Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to address social and environmental concerns related to mining operations.
Implement community engagement programs to enhance positive relations and promote sustainable mining practices.5.

Operational Excellence:
Provide strategic direction and leadership to the mining operations team to achieve production targets and operational excellence.
Implement best practices for safety, efficiency, and environmental stewardship in mining operations.6.

Budgeting and Cost Control:
Develop and manage budgets for mining operations, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.
Implement cost control measures to improve operational efficiency and profitability.7.

Risk Management:
Identify and assess risks associated with mining operations, including regulatory, environmental, and safety risks.
Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize risks and ensure business continuity.8.

Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare regular reports for senior management and government authorities, highlighting operational performance, compliance status, and future plans.
Maintain accurate records of all regulatory approvals, permits, and licenses.


Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering.
First Class Mine Manager Certificate of Competency.
Knowledge of Kannada is essential.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in mining operations management, with a focus on liaison with government departments and external stakeholders.

In-depth knowledge of mining laws, regulations, and procedures in Karnataka.
Proven track record of successful engagement with government authorities and community stakeholders.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
